Privacy notice
Updated 3 November 2026
This notice covers the rawline.app website and signing up for the RawLine Rename beta (Art. 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679, GDPR). The RawLine Rename app collects no data about you or your photos: it works only on your Mac, and connects to the internet only to check whether a new version is available (details below).
Who handles your data
The data controller is Andrea Passerini. For any question or request about your data, write to andrea.passerini.ph@gmail.com.
What data
When you download the beta I store: the email address you enter, the date of your consent and downloads, the page language, the beta version you downloaded and, if you came from a shared link, the group name in that link (for example "sony-group").
To protect the form from spam, the site uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes some technical browser data and your IP address to check that you are not an automated program. The site uses no cookies.
Site visits and app updates
To count visits, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you: it collects, in aggregate, the pages viewed, the site you came from, your country and your browser and device type.
The app checks once a day whether a new version is available by reading https://rawline.app/download/appcast.xml; if you accept the update, it downloads the new version from rawline.app. It sends nothing about you or your photos: it is an ordinary request for a file. As with every page of the site, the server receives your IP address and the program identifier, which includes the app version. You can turn the check off in Settings › General › “Check for updates automatically”.
For these requests, as for visits, Cloudflare keeps technical logs for a few days (IP address, page or file requested, browser or app version, date and time), for security and to run the site. I don't use them for anything else. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and knowing how much it is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Why
Only to contact you personally about the beta: to ask how it's going, and to let you know about new versions and the app's release. No newsletter, no sharing with third parties, no advertising.
Legal basis
Your consent, which you give by ticking the box before downloading (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by writing to the address above; withdrawal doesn't affect anything done before.
Where and for how long
The data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Cloudflare, Inc.), acting as data processor. Cloudflare may process data outside the European Union, with the safeguards provided by the GDPR (EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses).
I keep it for as long as the beta runs and up to 12 months after the app's release, then delete it. Sooner, if you ask.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, restrict its use, receive a copy or object to its processing by writing to andrea.passerini.ph@gmail.com. If you believe your data is handled improperly, you can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).
